    1. Book on gotrip.ge at least a day ahead with your flight number and address; the driver tracks the flight.
    2. You pay the driver in cash at the end, so take lari from the Bank of Georgia or TBC machines inside arrivals (not the bill-payment boxes outside customs). The ATMs stay open through the night.
    3. The driver waits in the arrivals hall with your name.

    Door to door at any hour, at the night rate. The fare is shown in the app before you confirm and paid by card.

    1. Open Bolt, set your address and read the fare before you confirm. There is no airport surcharge; anyone asking more than the app price gets a no.
    2. Walk out of the arrivals exit; drivers pick up on the road directly outside. At this hour expect a 10 to 15 minute wait.
    3. Check the plate and colour in the app before you get in.

Before you fly

  • Install Bolt and verify your phone number at home: most travel eSIMs are data only, so registering after landing can fail.
  • Have your travel insurance on your phone for passport control; it has been required for entry since 1 January 2026.
  • Book the driver at least a day ahead and keep the confirmation offline.

Good to know

  • Out of the doors about 00:10 to 00:40: our estimate of 30 to 60 minutes for passport control, bags and the walk out.
  • The Ibis Tbilisi Airport, next to the terminal, is the only bed within walking distance if you fly on early.
  • There is no airport train: the station exists but nothing was running or on sale in September 2026.

How it decides

The whole question turns on one number: the time you reach the kerb. Bus 337 runs from 06:59 to 22:59, and a flight that lands at 22:15 reaches the stop at about the time the last bus leaves. So the helper adds 30 to 60 minutes to your landing time for passport control and bags, checks that window against the timetable, and sets Bolt to its night fare if any of it falls between 23:00 and 07:00.

Then it ranks the options the way we do it ourselves. By day with light bags, the bus: 1.50 GEL is hard to argue with. By day with a suitcase each, Bolt, because it is door to door for 15 to 25 GEL and the car is a few minutes away. At night, with small children, or with five or more people, a pre-booked GoTrip driver: a fixed price, a name on a sign, and one minivan for up to seven at 67 to 80 GEL, about what two Bolt cars cost at night. No data on your phone moves the driver up too, because Bolt cannot be ordered without it. Going straight to the mountains or the coast, the driver is the only direct option, and the helper sets it against a night in Tbilisi and the public leg the next day.

Booking the driver

If the helper picked a driver, book at least a day ahead. We use GoTrip for this run: you book on the website with your flight number and address, the price is fixed per car, the driver tracks the flight and waits in arrivals with your name, and you pay cash at the end. These are the cheapest cars for each party size, read with GoTrip's own filters.

Data before the doors

How long does it take to get out of Tbilisi Airport?
We allow 30 to 60 minutes from touchdown to the kerb for passport control, bags and the walk out. That is our own estimate, not a published figure, and it is why a flight landing after about 22:00 usually misses the 22:59 bus.
Is a GoTrip driver worth it over Bolt?
At night, with children, or for five or more people, yes. A minivan for up to seven costs 67 to 80 GEL on GoTrip, against two Bolt cars at 30 to 50 GEL by day or 60 to 80 GEL at night. For one or two people landing in daylight with a working phone, Bolt or the bus is cheaper and just as easy.
Can I go straight from Tbilisi Airport to Kazbegi or Batumi?
Yes, by pre-booked driver. On 24 September 2026 the cheapest GoTrip cars from the airport were 219 GEL to Kazbegi (3 h 25 min), 206 GEL to Gudauri, 194 GEL to Sighnaghi, 145 GEL to Telavi, 233 GEL to Bakuriani, 253 GEL to Kutaisi and 352 GEL to Batumi (5 h 50 min). By public transport, go into the city first: the marshrutkas and trains to the regions leave from Didube, Samgori and Station Square.
Do I need cash when I land in Tbilisi?
Not for the bus or Bolt, which take cards. GoTrip drivers are paid in cash at the end, so if you booked one, withdraw lari from the Bank of Georgia or TBC machines inside arrivals. The machines and the exchange desks stay open through the night; the desks' rates are poor.
